Terms of Use
Breathe well, and within your limits.
These terms explain what Reed is, what it isn't, and how to use it safely. By using Reed, you agree to them.
Last updated: 20 July 2026
Reed is for general wellbeing, not medical care. Some breathing is more intense than others — check with a doctor if you have a health condition, practise somewhere safe, and stop if you feel unwell.
1. Who we are, and what these terms cover
Reed ("Reed", "we", "us") is a breathwork and pranayama app for iPhone made by [legal entity name], [address]. These Terms of Use govern your use of the Reed app. By downloading or using Reed, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. Your use is also subject to Apple's App Store terms and the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), which govern the purchase and licensing of the app and apply alongside these terms.
2. What Reed is — and what it isn't
Reed provides guided breathing exercises and a personal record of how you feel before and after them, for general wellbeing, relaxation, and focus. Reed is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or monitoring. It is not a substitute for professional medical care. Nothing in the app should be taken as a clinical recommendation. Always seek the advice of a qualified health professional with any questions about a medical condition, and never disregard or delay that advice because of something in Reed.
3. Health, safety, and assumption of risk
Breathing exercises have real physical effects, and some techniques — particularly the faster, forceful practices — are more intense than others. You should not begin without considering your own health, and you should consult a doctor first if any of the conditions listed in the app's health notice apply to you (including pregnancy, cardiovascular conditions, blood-pressure conditions, respiratory conditions, epilepsy or a history of seizures, panic or severe anxiety disorders, glaucoma, or recent surgery). Do not practise while driving, operating machinery, or in or near water. Stop immediately if you feel dizzy, faint, breathless, or unwell. You use Reed voluntarily and take responsibility for practising safely and within your own limits.
4. Eligibility
Reed is intended for users aged 16 and over. By using it, you confirm you meet that requirement.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Reed's core sessions are free. Reed Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription. Pricing, billing, free trials, renewal, and cancellation are handled by Apple through your Apple Account and are governed by Apple's App Store terms; you can manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings. The price and renewal terms are shown in the app before you subscribe. Our Privacy Policy explains how subscription data is handled.
6. Your content
Your practice data — your check-ins, sessions, and the history behind "your shift" — is stored on your device. Any custom patterns you create are yours. See the Privacy Policy for details.
7. Intellectual property
Reed, its name, design, content, and software are owned by [legal entity name] or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or resell any part of it except as the law allows.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Reed is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. This does not affect any rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Reed. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where it cannot lawfully be limited or excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer-protection law.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a significant change, we'll update this page and the date above, and do our best to let you know in the app.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.
